These terms govern your use of the JDental Specialists website (www.jdentalspecialists.com) and any communication you have with us through it. By using this website or contacting us through it, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the website.
1. About us
This website is owned and operated by JDS Dental Sdn Bhd, trading as JDental Specialists (“we”, “us”, “our”), of 71, Jalan Harimau Tarum, Taman Abad, 80250 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. References to “us” include our directors, dentists, specialists, employees and agents.
2. General information only, not dental advice
All content on this website, including treatment descriptions, FAQs, articles, photographs and any replies we send through WhatsApp or other messaging before you are examined, is general information only. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation or a substitute for an in-person examination by a dentist. You must not rely on it to make decisions about your health. Using this website or messaging us does not create a dentist-patient relationship. That relationship begins only when you attend our clinic, are registered as a patient and are examined by one of our dentists.
3. Not for emergencies
This website and our messaging channels are not monitored around the clock and must not be used for urgent medical situations. If you have severe swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding or a serious injury, call 999 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department immediately. We are not responsible for any delay in responding to messages.
4. Appointments and referrals
- Appointments are made by phone or WhatsApp. Submitting a referral form or sending us a message does not confirm an appointment until our team confirms it with you.
- We may reschedule or cancel appointments because of clinical needs, dentist availability or circumstances beyond our control, and will let you know as early as we reasonably can.
- Any deposit, cancellation, late-arrival or no-show terms we tell you about when booking form part of these terms and apply to your appointment.
- We may decline to accept a referral, book an appointment or provide treatment where we consider it clinically inappropriate, outside the scope of our practice, or where a patient behaves abusively toward our staff.
5. Your responsibilities as a patient
You must give us complete and accurate information about your medical history, medications, allergies and dental history, and tell us promptly of any change. You must follow the pre-treatment and aftercare instructions your dentist gives you and attend recommended reviews. We are not responsible for outcomes caused or worsened by inaccurate or incomplete information, or by not following our instructions.
6. Treatment, consent and results
All treatment is provided under a separate consultation and, where appropriate, a written consent form, which set out the expected benefits, risks and alternatives of your treatment. Those documents, and not this website, govern your treatment. Dentistry is not an exact science and every patient responds differently. Before-and-after photos, case examples and descriptions on this website show individual results only and are not a promise, warranty or guarantee of any outcome, duration of treatment or result for you.
7. Fees and payment
We do not publish treatment prices on this website, and any figure mentioned online or in messages before your examination is an estimate only. Your final fees depend on your clinical needs and are confirmed at your consultation. Treatment plans may change once treatment begins, and we will explain any change in cost. Fees are payable as we tell you at the clinic, and you remain responsible for any amount not covered by your insurer, panel company or employer.
8. Messaging and electronic communication
WhatsApp, email and the internet are not completely secure. If you choose to send us personal or health information, including photographs, through these channels, you do so at your own risk, and we are not liable for any interception, loss or misuse of that information while in transit or held by those platforms.
9. Intellectual property
All text, photographs, clinical images, logos, trade names and design on this website belong to JDS Dental Sdn Bhd or are used with permission. You may view and share links to pages for personal, non-commercial use only. You must not copy, republish, scrape, modify or use any of our content, including clinical photographs, for any other purpose without our prior written permission.
10. Acceptable use
You must not misuse this website, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, introducing malicious code, interfering with its operation, impersonating another person, or submitting false, misleading or abusive information through our forms or messaging channels.
11. Clinical records and recordings
- Dental records, X-rays, scans, models and clinical photographs we create are the property of JDS Dental Sdn Bhd. You may request copies of your records in line with applicable law, and we may charge a reasonable administrative fee for doing so.
- To protect the privacy of other patients and our staff, you must not photograph, film or record audio inside our clinic, or record consultations or calls, without our prior consent.
- Statements you publish about us, including reviews and social media posts, must be honest and must not disclose other patients’ or staff members’ personal information. We reserve all our rights in respect of false or defamatory statements.
12. Third-party links and services
This website links to and uses services operated by others, such as WhatsApp, Google Maps, Google reviews and Instagram. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, and is at your own risk.
13. No warranties
This website is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties or representations of any kind, express or implied, about the website or its content, including that it is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or viruses. We may change, suspend or remove any part of the website at any time without notice.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, JDS Dental Sdn Bhd is not liable to you or anyone else for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential, and whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, arising from or in connection with your use of, inability to use, or reliance on this website, its content or any communication made through it. This includes loss of income, data, opportunity or goodwill.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Any claim relating to dental treatment you receive at our clinic is governed by your treatment and consent documents and by applicable law, not by this website.
